Born in Melbourne, Australia, Tim performed his first show over thirty years ago. Since then he has published magic magazines, released several top-selling DVDs, owned his own magic shop, performed at conventions and conferences all over the world, escaped from a locked crate at the bottom of the Yarra River, and been featured in countless press articles.

After winning virtually every award Australian magic had to offer including 'Best Stage Magician' and 'Best Close Up Magician', Tim became the first Australian ever to win two awards at the FISM 'World Championship of Magic' - Switzerland in 1991 and Japan in 1994. Now he represents Australia on the Jury of this tri-annual event.

Tim Ellis has created a purely visual magic creature called Katzkin, who prowls around the dark corners of all types of venues, performing unbelievable feats of magic right in the hands of unsuspecting guests, swallowing razorblades, playing with fire... then disappearing without ever saying a word.
